Violent Acres has a sensationally good, laugh-out-loud funny rant today about how Starbucks baristas aren’t recognized adequately when they go above and beyond. We’re not sure we entirely agree about his prescriptions (after all, modest raises on shitty wages tend to be as quickly forgotten as empty back-patting), but we’re (1) in total agreement that organizations need to do a better job of rewarding people in meaningful ways when they do things that are totally above-and-beyond, and (2) we’re laughing our ass off at the description of the Starbucks ‘Way-to-Fucking-Go board.’
